What former Longhorns are playing in Super Bowl LX?
· Yahoo Sports
It is Super Bowl Sunday. The game will feature the Patriots vs. the Seahawks, a rematch of one of the best Super Bowls in recent memory, capped by the famous Malcolm Butler INT. It’s a new era for both teams, with new head coaches and new quarterbacks leading the way. Both fanbases will be rare to go but if you are just a Texas fan looking for a rooting interest, you have a trio of Longhorns to cheer on (with a fourth possible).

Seahawks - Michael Dickson, Byron Murphy II, Quandre Diggs (Practice Squad)
For the Seahawks, there are a pair of Longhorns that will undoubtedly be on the field and another Longhorn that could make an appearance.

Michael Dickson stands as one of the best punters to ever come through Austin, Texas and the same applies to Seattle, Washington now. Dickson has made an All-Pro team twice in his career, his rookie season(1st team) and this season(2nd team). Dickson has been steady as can be in the postseason, pinning seven of his eight punts inside the 20-yard line. Dickson is looking for his first Super Bowl of his illustrious career.
Byron Murphy II is the sole Sarkisian-era player in the game, but has wasted no time making a name for himself in the NFL. Murphy has racked up 62 tackles and 7 sacks this season and is quickly becoming one of the best young DL in the league. Murphy has been a major factor for the Seahawks elite rushing defense, only giving up 93.7 yards per game on the ground this season.
Finally, a true Longhorn legend Quandre Diggs still has a small possibility of seeing the field. Diggs is currently on the practice squad for the Seahawks. Diggs hasn’t played since November 30th, but would be a strong veteran presence the Seahawks could bring up.
Patriots - Brenden Schooler
Super Bowl bound! Congrats @SchoolerBrenden 🤘 pic.twitter.com/4CrNFbvREK

On the New England side, Brendan Schooler has become one of the best special teams players in the league. Schooler was a Pro-Bowl and First Team All-Pro in 2024 and has been remarkably productive in both kickoff and punt coverage. Schooler has 19 total tackles on the season, with 6 coming in the postseason. In the Super Bowl, there always seems to be a special teams play that changes the game. Could Schooler make the game changing play this time around?
