Nets' Michael Porter Jr., Egor Demin out Monday vs. Bulls
· Yahoo Sports
The Brooklyn Nets have been having a tough time winning games since the calendar turned to January as their performance on both ends of the floor have not been up to par. With that being said, Brooklyn didn't make any splashes at the trade deadline as the team's goal is still to develop the younger players on the roster. However, the Nets will be missing two key players.
The Nets announced on Sunday that they have ruled out forward Michael Porter Jr. and rookie guard Egor Demin for Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls due to their respective conditions. Porter is out for the game due to right knee tendinitis while Demin is being rested as Brooklyn has two games left to play before getting a break with All-Star weekend on the horizon.

Porter, 27, has been having an All-Star caliber season this year as he's averaging 25.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 47.4% from the field and 38.5% from three-point land in 41 appearances. However, over the last three games, Porter is struggling to have the same impact that he had earlier in the season as he's averaging 17.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 36.2% from the floor and 19.2% from behind the three-point line.
Demin, 19, is having a solid rookie season after a shaky start as he's now averaging 10.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 40.7% from the field and 39.5% from deep in 45 games played this season. Demin has been productive since December with his averages of 12.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per contest while shooting 42.0% from the field and 41.9% from three-point territory.
With Porter and Demin out of the lineup for this game, the Nets could have enough playing time available for new trade acquisitions in guard Ochai Agbaji and forward Josh Minott to see the floor for the first time for their new team. Depending on how head coach Jordi Fernandez wants to approach the rotation, both players could make their debut against a Bulls team that appears to finally be embracing a rebuild of their own.
For tomorrow's game against the Bulls, the Nets say that Michael Porter Jr. (right knee tendinitis) and rookie Egor Demin (rest) are OUT.

With Porter and Demin ruled out, this should allow Brooklyn to get a look at Ochai Agbaji and Josh Minott. Neither played vs. the Wizards.
